Wedded Bliss

Celebrating 2 years today
August 2nd

Today is our 2 year wedding anniversary. It's hard to believe it's already been two years. That doesn't seem all that long to me, but Micah and I were talking last night and we both feel like we've been married for a lot longer than just two years. Not sure why that is really? Maybe because we cranked out a baby so fast? Maybe...

And I know I joke about how hard it is to be married to Micah...yes he's way too picky about EVERYTHING and sometimes his sarcastic remarks go way over the line but overall, he is a wonderful husband, father, leader, coach, and friend. I am so thankful the Lord brought us together in His timing. It really was perfect timing for both of us and where we were in our lives.

So thank you Micah for a wonderful two years of marriage - I look forward to many, many more with you! It's been a fun ride so far and I can't wait to see what all the Lord has in store for our family in the years to come. Here are a few shots of us from our wedding day back in '08.

3 months and Growing!

Our little chunk monk is 3 months old! I can't believe how fast it's gone by... sad in a way I guess but I am loving this stage. He's showing so much personality and it's fun to watch him respond to stuff. Lots of smiling and gooing going on - especially when Micah talks "spanish" to him. It's pretty hysterical. I recently got down some toys from the attic and I decided to experiment with them since Hudson has gotten a little older. He did good sitting up in the Bumbo by himself. I was a little concerned and wondered if he was too little but our buddy sure does have some strong head and neck control. And I also put the kick and play piano in his crib - which he really seems to enjoy. And then we also got down a fun Baby Einstein ocean toy from our friend Debra. He loves to listen and watch the fish swim by. Here is a video of our recent fun. Enjoy!

Let's Luau!

Julie and Jeff's Luau Shower
July 10, 2010
Gallatin, TN

Jeff's parents hosted a Luau Wedding Shower for Jeff and Julie at their lake home in Gallatin, TN right outside of Nashville. Trish (Jeff's mom) definitely took the "luau" theme and ran with it...I mean, the place was decorated in island gear from had to toe. She worked so hard to make this get together a memorable one for both Jeff and Julie. There were lots of people there to celebrate - people I haven't seen in quite a while I will say. So, it was nice to talk and catch up with some of the people I used to hang out with when I lived in Nashville. Yes, I did live in Nashville at one point in my life. It was a very short-lived move to middle Tennessee - one whole year to be exact - but anyway, it was nice to see everybody and shower my best friend with food, fun, and friends:) I think Julie and Jeff had a good time. Here are a few pics from the shower.

Cute sign to accent the day's theme

Trish even had a banner made.

Wow! Enough said.

Happy Birthday America!

4th of July
Pickwick Lake and Granna's House

Micah and I spent Saturday at Pickwick Lake to celebrate the 4th and Mynatt's 31st birthday. We were joined by Brett and soon-to-be Mandy Kennedy, Drew and Julie Hart, Rob and Betsy Humphreys, and of course the birthday boy Rob! The day was perfect. Lots of fun in the sun. We took a long boat ride on the Mynatt's sweet new pontoon boat and finished the evening off with a delicious dinner extravaganza. Side note - this was the first time for us to leave Huddy overnight. He stayed with Granna and Papaw and surprisingly, I did fairly well being away from my sweet baby boy. We only called to check on him two times:) Granna on the other hand found herself with lots of interuptions during the night. So I felt bad for her. I guess Hudson knew he wasn't at home and being in a different environment and all threw him off I'm assuming. Better luck next time?

When we came back home on Sunday we went swimming with Dianna and the kids, grilled out, ate homemade ice cream, and watched the Germantown fireworks. It was a perfect ending to the weekend. We really enjoyed their visit from Dallas. They got to stay in Memphis for two whole weeks! We did lots of fun stuff during that time...the Collierville sprinkler park and drive-in movie were at the top of my list. So glad we got to spend some much needed quality time with them and Hudson FINALLYgot to meet his cousins. Can't wait til we see them all again.

Father's Day 2010

Father's Day Weekend
Crossville, TN

Micah, Hudson, and I went to Crossville to celebrate my Dad's birthday and Father's Day. It was Hudson's second out of town getaway and overall he did really great! We just relaxed by the lake, grilled out, and took it easy. Hudson went on a boat ride and he really liked it we think. There was a nice breeze out on the lake and it's always like 15 degrees cooler there so it was nice because it wasn't too hot.

This year I am especially thankful for all the special boys in my life:) Thank you to my sweet daddy for always being so kind and generous to me, because not always do I deserve it. Thank you to my loving husband who is a new daddy this year! Yay! We love you and are thankful for the Godly man you are and the leadership you demonstrate in our home. Thank you to my sweet baby boy, Hudson, who is an incredibly good baby and brings me so much joy each and every day. And thank you to our Father in heaven who continuously extends grace and mercy to me and offers unconditional love to us all. Happy Father's Day!

It's Bunco Time in Tennessee!

June Bunco
Hosted at the Millers

Our first official bunco started this month. The theme was "Margaritaville" and we had it at our house. Lots of fun was had by all I'd have to say:) I feel like an old woman playing bunco, I guess because I associate it with bridge...which is what my grandmother used to play with her friends. Haha! Oh well, it's always lots of fun and there is really no skill involved. Just rolling some dice to get to 21. How hard is that? And best of all there are prizes to be won! Hayley and I came away as the only winners of the night. She won for most games and most Buncos. I won for least games and most "traps" aka trips. Here are a few pics from the night's festivities. Can't wait for next month:)
