Today was a good day

I feel like after my last post I need to make a conscious effort at remembering the "good days" when we have them. I don't want to seem like a Debbie Downer or anything so for my sake I think it is important that again, I try and remember the positives.

So alas, here is the rundown of our extraordinary "good day" - -

Hayes slept 8-6. Um, thank you little buddy! Fed him at 6 and he went back down til 9. Awesomeness. Hudson also slept in. My usual early riser at 7 am slept in til 8:30. I actually got to enjoy my coffee and breakfast, got ready for the day, AND had a quiet time. Amazing!

Then after playing for an hour or so Hayes went back down for a morning nap. Slept 10:30-1. Ate and back down for an afternoon nap 2-4.

Hudson and I actually got to eat lunch together. Yay:) He then went down for a nap and slept 12:30-3:30

Around 5 we packed up and went to the park since the weather was a bit cooler today. Hayes slept in the car seat for about 30 min while we were there.

Dinner together while Hayes played in the swing....WITHOUT CRYING

We then took a walk around the neighborhood...again no crying or super fussiness. Who is this baby? I don't know but I am so thankful for a day like today. The Lord knew it was much needed:)

2 months

Hayes turned 2 months on Aug 6th. I can't believe it's already been 2 months since we were sitting in the hospital waiting to find out if June Bug was a boy or girl...on the other hand it's been a crazy and hard 2 months. Having a baby in the summer is just plain hard anyway. It's too hot to go anywhere or do anything really. So I feel like I've had cabin fever for the last 9 weeks since we've pretty much been home-bound. Ha!

I took Hayes to the doc for his 2 month shots last week and also so Dr. Mitchell could check further into all the tummy issues he's been battling. I was convinced he has reflux so I was hoping to come out of the appt with a prescription for zantac. Thankfully she did write it for me. However, after describing his symptoms and going over our routine throughout the day, the doc uttered the "C Word" that every parent dreads to hear. Yep. She says Hayes has colic. Which basically means there is not much I can do to help the poor guy:( It's unfortunate but the good news is it will go away in time. I'm trying to stay positive about this whole thing because let's face it. This news found me feeling very defeated and discouraged. Thankfully the reflux medicine seems to help a little which is good and he seems to be doing better with every passing day. If you would - please join me in praying he overcomes this colicky stage as soon as possible. Our family appreciates your prayers and support:)

Hayes' Newborn Pics

Courtney Ritchey from Chic Boutique Photography came to take Hayes' newborn pictures and our family pics back in June. I think he was like 11 or 12 days old at the time...sad I can't remember but the last few weeks have sort of just blurred together so please forgive me. She got some cute ones that's for sure! See for yourself. There's a million so be prepared. I no longer post pics on FB, just here on the blog. Enjoy!

Fabulous Four

4 years of marriage that is! I definitely don't feel like it's been that long - we've had a wonderful journey together thus far and I look forward to what the future holds for us. I couldn't have asked for a better husband, friend, helper, and father. I love you Micah Andrew Miller. Happy 4 year Anniversary!!
